Hey future panthers! Still not
sure what you’re majoring in? Well, don’t worry, 80% of incoming
freshman enter college not knowing for sure what to major in. Lucky for
you, though, UNI has tons of resources for those who are trying to find
where they are supposed to be! The Office of Academic Advising is the
best place to start. Online, they offer a free interest inventory, Career
Cruising, which gives you a whole list of possible careers for you
based on your interests. If you’re willing to pay, for just $9, you can
take an in-depth inventory called the Strong Interest Inventory, that
will give you even more information and someone from Academic Advising
will go through it with you.
There are also workshops offered throughout
the year such as, Majors in Minutes, a speed dating-like workshop that
allows you to talk to all different majors that you may be interested
in. So, if you’re not sure what you want to do with the rest of your
life yet, don’t sweat it! The University of Northern Iowa will help you
find just the right fit!
