Recently, I saw the UNI Theatre production of "The American Way of Eating." The play was adapted from the book of the same title by Tracie McMillan. The book is based on the events of McMillan going undercover in the fields of California, a Wal-Mart produce section, and a kitchen at Applebees. Reading the book and seeing the play was also required for Cornerstone students. Tracie McMillan even came to speak with students in the Cornerstone classes and saw UNI's production of "The American Way of Eating".
I sat down with Molly Giegerich, one of the students in the production of "The American Way of Eating," who gave me a short synopsis of the play.
